Training Conducted for Second Batch of State Disease Vectors Surveillance Officers

The National Arbovirus and Vectors Research Centre (NAVRC), has conducted training for the second batch of the states Disease Vectors Surveillance Officers (DVSO), from Anambra and Ebonyi states.  The DVSOs were trained on basic field entomological techniques, to provide skilled level manpower for active disease vectors surveillance in their states.

This is part of the ongoing efforts by the Centre to sustain active surveillance of infectious disease vectors, especially, with the increase in Yellow fever and other infectious diseases outbreak in the country. Information obtained from routine disease vectors surveillance such as this; will help to forestall outbreaks of infectious diseases like Yellow fever and government and concerned agencies alerted for preemptive measures, in order to avert both human and economic losses often associated with disease outbreaks.
