The NAVRC-trained Disease Vectors Surveillance Officers in Anambra state has begun the routine Aedes mosquito species surveillance in the state. The Disease surveillance officers will be targeting both the mature and immature stages of Aedes mosquitoes species. NAVRC had since 2019 trained middle level man power Disease Vector Surveillance Officers (DVSOS) from the state in basic entomological techniques, to carry out routine active vector surveillance in the state. It is aimed that information obtained from this study will help in forestalling reoccurring outbreaks of infectious diseases such as yellow fever and other diseases of public health importance in Nigeria.
