The National Arbovirus and Vectors Research Centre, NAVRC, had the honor to receive the Director Public Health in an official visit to the Centre. The National Coordinator, NAVRC, Dr. Chukwuemeka Asadu, led the NAVRC Team that received the Director.
The Director who was represented by, Dr. Olakunle Daramola, of Public Health; took time to visit the Sections, the NAVRC’s Insectary, and the different Research Laboratories. This was to gain knowledge of the various research activities being carried out in the Centre with regards to Vector Management and Control, in-line with NAVRC’s mandate.

The director also used interacted with the members of staff, to ascertain their level of commitment to their duties; and challenges being faced in discharging their duties. He commended the efforts of the Centre towards vector management and control; especially, during Yellow fever and other vector borne diseases outbreak in the country.
He urged the Centre to seek effective collaborations with other relevant Institutions and Partners and tasked the Management on prioritizing the training and re-training of Staff members in other to achieve optimum result. He pledged the support of the Ministry to the Centre.
