NAVRC Staff have been trained on Elisa Optimization Procedures for Accurate results for Proper Diagnosis

A 3-day training has been conducted for NAVRC Staff with hands-on training on Elisa Laboratory Optimization. The laboratory staffers are being trained on Elisa optimization and procedures. The training is aimed at building (Laboratory mentorship Program) , increase the effectiveness of the laboratory officers in the collection, handling and processing of samples for Elisa experiment in order to obtain accurate results for proper diagnosis of diseases.

The training was facilitated by  Dr. Chukwubuike and Mrs. Edu-Alamba of the Molecual Biology  Department, UNTH Ituku Ozalla. The facilitators also trained the staff in areas of Team building, Proper house keeping in the laboratory to improve work efficiency, and improved quality operational techniques applied in the laboratory.

The facilitators also guided the trainees in carrying out practicals on setting up of Elisa compartments of the lab and the equipment operation. They were also taken through detailed Elisa procedures  starting with basic pipetting to result analysis and quality control strategies.

Speaking on behalf of the National Coordinator NAVRC and declaring the training close, the Head of Administration, Mrs. Etukokwu Chineze, commended the efforts of the facilitators and the commitment of the trainees toward a successful training.  She urged the trainees to be optimal in putting into practice all they have learnt during the training to gain capacity for the Centre to launch its Elisa diagnostic services in full operations.
