NAVRC Organizes Training on Basic PCR Techniques and Phytochemical Analysis for Lecturers from Higher Institutions of learning

The National Arbovirus and Vectors Research Centre (NAVRC) is conducting hands-on training sessions on basic PCR molecular techniques and phytochemical analysis  for lecturers from four prestigious higher institutions across the country. The Assistant Director Dr. Mrs. Ochu presented the overview of the mandates, activities and  achievements   of the Centre. She  also declared the training open On behalf of the National Coordinator, Dr. Emeka AsaduThe Head of  Molecular Biology Section, Mrs. Okesade Ranti, delivering the  overview of the training

Through hands-on experience, they gained valuable insights into sample preparations, DNA  and isolation, purification methodologies, and optimization of extraction protocols for different types of biological samples. The training sessions fostered a collaborative learning environment, allowing the trainees to exchange ideas, as they eagerly absorbed the knowledge and honed their skills in molecular biology research. Following the comprehensive theoretical sessions, the trainees actively engaged in practical training, where they were introduced to the intricacies of various extraction techniques.
