The NAVRC Team was at the Cattle Market, New Gariki, Enugu, to sensitize the cattle sellers on the need to observe the recommended  hygiene and social measures for the containment of the Covid-19 disease; such as: regular hand washing with soap and running water, use of hand sanitizers, wearing of protective gears such as face masks and maintaining social/physical distancing etc as  measures to prevent the spread of the disease. This has become even more pertinent owing to the fact that most of the cattle sold at the market are sourced from the Northern States of the country some of which have become high risk areas of the pandemic.

With the dangers posed by this fact in mind, the NAVRC Advocacy Communication and Social Mobilization Team, led by the Head of the Unit, Mrs Ijeoma Nwodo, embarked on a sensitization campaign to the Cattle Market, New Gariki, Enugu.

This is part of the efforts the Centre is making in sensitizing  the public on the reality and dangers posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, and the need to put adequate containment measures in place to avoid wide spread of the disease in the state.
